This privacy policy applies only to the Android application TickTock Clock. It does not cover this website generally or any other product.
Summary
TickTock Clock does not collect personal data. It does not require an account, does not show ads, does not include analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and does not use the internet. Sound files ship inside the app package. Preferences you set (chosen clock, chime switches, night silence, appearance) stay on your device.
Data the app does not collect
The app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share:
- Names, email addresses, or account credentials (there is no sign-in)
- Location, contacts, photos, microphone audio, or files from storage
- Advertising identifiers, analytics events, or usage telemetry
- Crash logs or diagnostics sent to the developer or a third party
Data stored on your device
Settings such as the selected sound, whether quarter marks and hour chimes are enabled, night-silence hours, and theme preferences are stored locally on the phone (application preferences). Uninstalling the app removes that data with the app, subject to how your device handles backups.
Permissions
TickTock Clock may request the following Android permissions. None of them are used to collect personal information:
- Foreground service / media playback — keeps the clock ticking while you use other apps or the screen is off, with a persistent notification.
- Notifications (Android 13+) — shows that notification and its Stop action. Without it, playback can still work, but you lose the stop control outside the app.
- Display over other apps (optional) — floating clock button. Playback works if you refuse.
- Battery optimisation (optional) — the app does not request a battery permission; the settings screen only links you to Android’s own battery-optimisation list, so aggressive OEMs are less likely to pause a long or overnight session.
The app does not declare or use the INTERNET permission. It cannot phone home even if it wanted to.
Children
The app is a general-audience clock soundscape. It does not knowingly collect data from children — it does not collect personal data from anyone.
AI-generated content
Every clock and watch sample bundled in the app is AI-generated audio. None are field recordings of real instruments, even when a preset is named after a familiar clock type. That fact is disclosed in the app and in the store listing; it does not involve processing your personal data.
Third parties
No advertising networks, analytics providers, social SDKs, or cloud backends are embedded in the app. Distribution through Google Play is governed by Google’s own terms for the store and your Google account; this policy covers the app binary and its behaviour on your device.
Changes
If the app’s behaviour changes in a way that affects privacy (for example, adding optional cloud features or analytics), this page will be updated and the effective date revised before that version is published.
